Dorothy x NIKKO
I met NIKKO when I was asked to design and make my translucent white/white and colored nerikomi expression into tableware.
Our challenge was to achieve the image of my white/white translucent nerikomi expression in a new way. Our collaboration has achieved this for the first time. It is beautiful, desirable, enjoyable and ergonomically comfortable to use.
The history of translucent white/white and colored nerikomi is basically my life story. My work is usually one-off pieces for collectors and Museums. Now my expression is being applied in another way to bone china produced by Nikko.
More people can touch and enjoy my expression, courtesy of NIKKO “Made in Japan”.
